While many artists find their
subject matter in the world around them, my inspiration has been the realms of
dreams, visions, spirit and imagination. I enjoy painting whatever forms seem
to appear on the canvas, keeping a certain theme in mind, much like the
surrealists of early modern art. My influences
are many, surrealism, native and spiritual art are the most influential in
style or subject matter. I enjoy the bold use of color and line, to set the
emotional tone of my work. My primary media is acrylic paint, but I also work
in mixed media or pen and ink on paper. In the past 7 years, my two young daughters
have also brought a lively influence to my art creation.
